Why should I choose WR Linguistics?

We have an excellent reputation. Whatever your requirements, our quality controls guarantee you an exemplary service. We can provide sample translations and will contact you to discuss your requirements. Simply enter your details on our online form and we'll get in touch straight away.

Do you use freelance translators and interpreters?

At WR Linguistics we use both in-house and freelance interpreters and translators. All our freelance professionals must meet the strict requirements we set down for working with WR Linguistics. We only allow translators who translate into their mother tongue and in the subject areas of their competence. All our translators must have significant experience, and all are rigorously tested prior to being used by ourselves.

What are your translation rates?

We prefer to see all texts or a sample of text prior to supplying a quote.

Our rates vary depending on the type of text, the language and the turnaround time requested. The more complex a text, the higher the price we have to charge. Also, some languages are more difficult to translate, or there are fewer professionals available.

Please fill in our quotation form and we'll get back to you shortly.

In what format do you need to receive texts?

The best format for receiving texts is Microsoft Word as an attachment in an email. If this is not possible please get in touch first to ensure we can receive the format you use.

We are able to adapt text to a variety of formats.

What subject areas can you work in?

Our professional translators are specific to particular subject areas. We have experienced professionals for most subject areas, and for example you can find a list of the many technical subject areas we work with by clicking here.

Which languages do you work in?

A list of languages can be found by clicking here. This list is by no means exhaustive and if your language is not listed please contact us with your requirements.

Are your translations proof-read?

YES. It is standard procedure for us to proof-read all translated texts. Proof-reading is always carried out by a mother tongue speaker of the language, in association with our in-house team of English language experts.

What are your delivery times for translations?

Our standard turnaround for texts of less than 10,000 words is 4-5 days. If your requirements are more urgent, than this we have 24 and 48 hour services. It is worthwhile remembering that the average translator will translate 2,500 words per day. Whilst this does not mean that larger texts cannot be translated quickly (more than one translator can be used), it is far better (and guarantees fluidity of the text) if the same translator translates the whole document. Any quote you request will take into account these parameters.

Do you use qualified and registered interpreters?

We aim to use qualified and registered interpreters at all times. In some cases where the pool of interpreters for a particular language is small, there may be no specific qualification or registration available. In these cases our own strict quality control procedure is, as with all mainstream languages, fully implemented. Our feedback procedures from existing clients, and continual appraisal of all our freelancers ensures continuity of quality.

What are your interpreting rates? Are your interpreters based in my area?

Our interpreting rates vary depending on the language combination. A French-English interpreter will cost less than an English-Tamil interpreter. Additionally, the distance our interpreters have to travel will affect the price, as will the time of day. We have interpreters across the UK, with a database of over 600 professionals. Our aim is to provide the closest interpreter geographically to the client. We are also able to offer interpreting services by telephone and internet to reduce your costs and increase the flexibility of your options.

Language Tuition - Which languages do you cater for?

We can offer tuition across a wide range of languages. Please contact us to let us know where you are and what your requirements are, and we will get back to you immediately.

Which countries and cultures do you offer training in?

We can offer cultural and country specific training for most countries. Please contact us to let us know what your requirements are and we will get back to you with more information.
